Launching LOUISIANA STORIES
Benefiting Sticking Up For Children's five Partners for Education in Haiti and Louisiana. Pre-Order through Zelle-or through Donations at stickingupforchildren.com--or through generous Substack!
Nov. 22, 2024
The concept is simple. We’re hoping that its outcome is fruitful. And we paraphrase Little Margie Hendrix for our refrain. Sing it, Margie: “It’s a pretty good deal!”
We’re thinking that Sales of the upcoming 2-CD Album from Don Paul and Rivers Answer Moons, LOUISIANA STORIES, can help to fund Sticking Up For Children’s Partners in education in Haiti and Louisiana.
MARYSE PHLIIPPE DEJEAN and I are also hoping that the Whole Process can be as Democratic and Egalitarian (What words in November 2024!) as we (you now with us in the we) can make it.
That is, we want to make this 2-CD Album affordable to EVERYONE. We hope that LOUISIANA STORIES is ENJOYABLE for everyone.
Responses to the Album so far, through October 2024, are very GRATIFYING.
The Album draws from the very variegated LIFE in Louisiana. One CD is with Vocals.
One is of Instrumentals.
You can hear the Album’s opening Track in its mastered version, “Louisiana Days, Louisiana Nights”, with Vocals and as Instrumental, HERE.
You can hear its next, connecting and even more rousing Track, “The Bands Are Bringing Everyone Home”, HERE.
May I say again that the Rivers Answer Moons band is GREAT! GREAT in their decades of experience, their skills and sensitivity, and their adventurous EMBRACE of this Album Tracks’ very variegated contents. They’ve so put their hearts into LOUISIANA STORIES! KATE SMITH wrote it true: ‘The instrumentation is colorful and poignant as the precious lives of those whose stories you tell.’
Our Guests are likewise GREAT. LOUIS MICHOT Violin, ANDRE MICHOT Accordion, integrally enhance the Album’s opening two and closing two Tracks. HERLIN RILEY Drums-Set and MICHAEL TORREGANO JR. Keyboards and MARIO ABNEY Trumpet join us in the Funky Dance of “Get Your JAM On!” ERICA FALLS is the Jazz-inflecting singer there! LYNN DRURY gives us the expressive nuances and Soul of her voice in “Some Rain Tonight”.
You can Pre-Order one or more, or 10 or 20 or more, of the 2-CD Albums through a Donation on the Sticking Up For Children website. Hang out there and see and hear what our “tree-mendous” Partners in education have accomplished with their Students and Staff over the past 11 years. Just click on the DONATE button and then specify that your Contribution is for X amount of LOUISIANA STORIES Albums. Even better, from the perspective of uncut revenue, is to Pre-Order through Zelle to our Sticking Up For Children checking-account with Regions Bank. Our identfier there is the email address stickingupforchildren@gmail.com. Just use your improbably efficient Zelle to send funs to that account and specify the number of Albums you want. A third Alternative is one I favor to compensate our host SUBSTACK for the bandwidth and many services that SUBSTACK provides. Buy a Subscription to Stands the Human Being and specify that your Paid Suscription—whatever level you choose— would like X amount of LOUISIANA STORIES.
Oh, and the price, Margie says, “IS a pretty good deal!” $30 for one of the 2-CD Albums, with 20-Page Booklet, with $5 added for Shipping in the United States and $10 for Shipping elsewhere. You can do the Multiples. 10 of this highly collectable First Edition of LOUISIANA STORIES would be $300, plus Shipping, and 30 would be, say, a nice, round $1000, with no cost for Shipping. Make many happy this Season!
The Louisiana Launch. And: Come to Our Party!
For its ‘Louisiana Launch’, beginning NOW, before the Teams of Kate Smith Promotionsand PlayMPE dispatch the Album to more than 3300 Radio-Stations and Writers and Musicians and other Media ‘round the world this coming January, the 2-CD Album can be bought for $30 as a Pre-Order, with $5 for Shipping within the U.S. and $10 for shipping outside the U.S.
The initial 1000 of our LOUISIANA STORIES will be distinguished as a First Edition on the front cover of the Album’s 6-Panel Digipak.
To paraphrase Little Margie Hendrix: “It’s a pretty good deal!”
Oh, and be sure to come, if you can, to our Album-Release Party in the upstairs EVOLVE Space of the Angela King Gallery, 241 Royal Street in New Orleans’ French Quarter. Our Listening-Party there last August was a gas!
Oh, and a 20-Page, full-color Booklet, printed on 6 X 6 100-lb Paper in emulation of the super-fine Catalogs that ANGELA KING selects as befitting her Artists, accompanies the 2-CD Album.
Here are Parts about our Party. Please take it as an INVITATION!
Below is the Back-Cover of the Booklet. Represented in this Mix are Benefits, organized by Musicians in both New Orleans and Acadiana. for a Musician-in-Need.
You’ll understand. Generous Louisiana!
Let me praise LOUISIANA STORIES’ Players more. The 2-CD Album is loaded with musical riches. You can easily imagine if you know the Players. DON VAPPIE has compared it to ‘a music library.’ Don wrote about our (Don Paul and Rivers Answer Moons) celebrating of Athletes in wheelchairs and their aiding Angels in the Outfield in New Orleans’ Riverside Park, ‘The DREAMERS and the BELIEVERS’:
‘The Dreamers and the Believers is funky beyond funky.’
We’ve added the INSTRUMENTAL of this Track to its previous posting on our Generous Host here, SUBSTACK. CLICK on over and check out the grooves!
As we’ve said above—and said probably more than once—Pre-Orders and other Purchases of LOUISIANA STORIES benefit STICKING UP FOR CHILDREN’S long-time Partners in Haiti and Louisiana.
Great people, too! You may have gotten to know the brilliance and fortitude of these Partners, as we’ve gotten to know them over 11 years. Two recent Posts of mine have profiled the respective founders of the F.E.P.E. (Foyer Espoir Pour les Enfants) orphanage and the College Canapé Vert school, Madame MARIE-JO POUX and MADAME MARIE MARTHE BALIN FRANCK PAUL … 76 years and 88 years strong, respectively, too.
Enjoy! Enjoy! Support us as you can!
Oh, and here’s a Photo by journalist KEITH HILL, Show-Host on WWOZ, from our Listening Party of last August.

A few Quick Reminders and then Links to listening to LOUISIANA STORIES in their Album versions. Buy a WHOLE LOT, Margie says!
LOUISIANA STORIES can be Pre-Ordered on the Sticking Up For Children Website. Just click on the DONATE button and then COMMENT that your Contribution is for X number of Albums. Earlier this month NANCY YVONNE in California bought six Albums for friends and family and in support of SUFC’s Partners. We’ll send the Albums and their Booklet along, pronto!
Alternatively you can Pre-Order through sending amounts by Zelle to our Sticking Up For Children account at Regions Bank. The Zelle identifier for us as recipient is stickingupforchildren@gmail.com.
A third choice is THROUGH Substack. Again, this choice I endorse. It enables some reciprocity for the services that Substack provides us—our capacities to become a Community, say, through Text, Audio, Video, … And I think we’ve said that ONE Annual Subscription to this Stands The Human Being Substack ($50) would bring you TWO of the 2-CD Albums with their 20-Page Booklets. You can invent further multiples, depending on your wishes.
Now, at last, here are embedded Links to hear the first two, connecting Tracks of LOUISIANA STORIES—”Louisiana Days, Louisiana Nights” and “The Bands Are Bringing Everyone Home”.
