"Louisiana Days, Louisiana Nights" from the 2-CD Album LOUISIANA STORIES
The opening Track of the 2-CD Album LOUISIANA STORIES, given here with Vocals and as an Instrumental. Join us, if you can, in the Album-Release Party Dec. 6 at Angela King Gallery, New Orleans!
The great RIVERS ANSWER MOONS Band of ROGER LEWIS Saxophones, KIRK JOSEPH Sousaphone, DON VAPPIE Banjo and Guitar, HERMAN LEBEAUX Drums-Set and Sound-Scapes, and ALEXEY MARTI, Congas, Cajon and MORE are joined by LOUIS MICHOT Violin and ANDRE MICHOT Accordion.
Recorded in Rick G. Nelson’s Marigny Studio of New Orleans between March 11 and April 18, 2024, with the more-than-capable musicians RICK and ADAM KEIL as our Engineers and then on the green grounds of Dockside Studio in Louisiana’s Acadiana, the town of Milton in the Corporation of Maurice, next to Slow Murmur of the sinuous Vermilion River. July 31, 2024, with the likewise great, able and sensitive JUSTIN TOCKET as our Engineer. Mixed with Justin during two days within that Pleasurable Step (Mixing) for the Album, October 7 and 8 at Dockside, and further worked by me in the empowering Audacity (that second-by-second Fine Tooth Comber uplifting work) before final processing with the also great Engineer DAVID FARRELL that rendered both of the Album’s two sound-files into DDPs for their manufacture by our friends at Bison Disc in Florida. Whew!

This past Monday afternoon, before driving over to Austin, Texas to connect with friends who are integral to the wonderful JAMBAR ‘Organic, Artisan Energy-Bar’ (JENNIFER the founder and Chief Chef, ADAM, MATT, BRUCE) at ‘The Running Event’ in Austin’s Convention Center, I sat down with a very long-time friend and exemplary Volunteer, SAKURA KONE, his name as a Show-Host over New Orleans’ and the world’s WWOZ, DJ Rootzmastah, to talk about the album.
Here’s what we said about “Lousiana Days, Louisiana Nights”.
