Tim Green Celebration Tonight!

Tonight, August 29, 2024, in New Orleans a Celebration of Tim Green happens inside Chuck Perkins’ Cafe Istanbul between 7:00 and 10:00. Tim’s sister Dianne Greenrainey begat this Celebration and has traveled from Atlanta to assist. Many, many are the musicians intending to offer at least verbal tributes.

Tim Green was a hugely unifying and uplifting presence over more than 20 years in New Orleans.

You can see from the quotes on a Poster produced by Sticking Up For Children for the third of our four Days of honoring Tim in collaboration with New Orleans’ City Council, the year then 2018, … that Tim was “transcendent’ (Helen Gillet) and so “committed” that he would have tried a walk from Earth to the Moon (Kirk Joseph) and ‘a kind, thoughtful, and very musical soul’ (Peter Gabriel).
