DAVID AMRAM Turns 94!

How often does a 94th Birthday roll around? How often does the 'Renaissance Man of American Music' turn 94? Celebrating our friend David!

For reasons stated above, I want to add a few more Links that may let folks appreciate the composer, bandleader, player and humanitarian Mr. Amram.

He’s given steadily to Sticking Up For Children and to Schools and Students in Haiti.

April of 2022, David and I talked about his “inspirations”.

Among his current inspirations, David said then, were Madame Marie Marthe Balin Franck Paul and her and her Team’s efforts for Universal Literacy in Haiti—Lèkol Toupatou. David also cited JAMBAR then for that product’s “doing something for people in the world, and I’m one of those people.”

In October 2020 another Video from David demonstrated four musical instruments of the Western Hemisphere for Haitian students. He brought up in that session how MAX ROACH had come to agree that Haiti’s TI RORO might well be “the world’s greatest drummer.” Please scroll down to the third section of Sticking Up For Children’s Update for that month, four years ago.
